Now Playing Onstage in Casper - Week of 3/02/2014John Paul Hodge with Speed the Pilgrim in Broadway" border="0" height="100" width="100" align="right"> JOHN PAUL HODGE WITH SPEED THE PILGRIM
Artcore
3/7-3/7/2014
Dirtboy Johnny (aka John Paul Hodge) is something of a breath of curt, soulful and honest fresh air. He began his tenure behind the drum kit, but realizing that Johnny had a voice that needed to sing his own wares, he stepped up to the microphone, guitar in hand, and began the his next evolution as a musician…more importantly, Dirtboy Johnny had found his voice…what JP didn't, and still doesn't, realize is the necessity of his voice to this world…his is the voice we've all been waiting for. John Paul Hodge is the best kind of socio-political critic, his heart is in the right place. In this country, it is not only excusable to question that which is before us, it is our responsibility. Guided by jaded, not extinguished, idealism and an incurable heart, (don't believe his cynicism for a second), Dirtboy Johnny has taken his music, his awareness to the masses in effort to help shake everyone out of their apathy. And he does so with such grace not even he realizes the magic happening in the room. Like any scorn individual, Johnny has something to say and what makes him different than the average protest-song spinner is quite simple: soul & intellect…plus the chops and network to assemble & arrange his soul-orchestra to beseech a Dirtboy audience into free-thinking and creativity. Dirtboy Johnny is a unifier through his music and he draws his inspiration from the world around him.
