Below, check out what's ahead for the talented cast now that the show is signing off the air!
Neil Patrick Harris (Barney) returns to Broadway in the new production of Hedwig and the Angry Inch, the musical with book by John Cameron Mitchell and music and lyrics by Stephen Trask, directed byMichael Mayer. The limited engagement began previews on Saturday, March 29 for a Tuesday, April 22 opening night at the Belasco Theatre.
"Within the period of a year, I've gotten to do four weirdly, wildly different things," he tells USA Today. "Hedwig's very engulfing. Kind of the antithesis to Barney, equally as voracious but a whole different world."
Alyson Hannigan (Lily) will portray a wife and mother in the upcoming CBS' comedy pilot 'More Time With Family,' co-starring Tom Papa.
"I was all prepared to wait and maybe next season develop something, with the caveat that if I found something I love, I would do that. And I found something I love," she shares. "There's a lot of heart and it's really funny. It's so real to life."
Josh Radnor (Ted) plans to act in an unnamed independent film, and may possibly returning to the stage and complete a rewrite of a script.
"I directed two films. I want to direct more," he tells USA Today. "I have this little bit of internal tension about whether I want to go full steam ahead as an actor. I just know I want to keep directing."
Jason Segel (Marshall) will be seen on the big screen this July in the comedy 'Sex Tape', co-starring Cameron Diaz (July 25), and the drama 'The End of the Tour', in which he takes on the role of novelist David Foster Wallace
"I'm going to take some time off and do some life stuff as well." Segel says. "Sit around for a week and probably start writing."
Cobie Smulders (Robin) will be seen in Captain America: The Winter Soldier,' opening in theaters this weekend. She plans to move to New York to be with her husband, 'SNL' cast member Taran Killam. She will also be seen in Avengers: Age of Ultron (2015).
"I can't talk about anything I'm not going to say anything," she says of her upcoming role in Avengers. "but I am involved in the Marvel world in some respects ... I've been blessed to be a part of the Marvel universe, so I'll jump when they say to," she says.
Cristin Milioti (The Mother) recently seen on the big screen in 'Wolf of Wall Street,' has signed on to co-star in NBC's upcoming comedy pilot A TO Z.
