Scoop: MODERN FAMILY on ABC - Wednesday, January 9, 2013"New Year's Eve" - Jay is so excited, having planned for the whole family to celebrate New Year's together at this great hotel in Palm Springs. However, when the hotel turns out to be less than stellar, everyone starts to branch off to do their own thing, leaving Jay dejected -- that is until he runs into the one and only Billy Dee Williams! Meanwhile back at home, Haley and Alex watch over the kids, which proves to be quite a challenge, on "Modern Family," WEDNESDAY, JANUARY 9 (9:00-9:31 p.m., ET), on the ABC Television Network.

"Modern Family" stars Ed O'Neill as Jay, Julie Bowen as Claire, Ty Burrell as Phil, Sofía Vergara as Gloria, Jesse Tyler Ferguson as Mitchell, Eric Stonestreet as Cameron, SARAH HYLANd as Haley, Nolan Gould as Luke, Ariel Winter as Alex, Rico Rodriguez as Manny and Aubrey Anderson-Emmons as Lily.

Guest cast includes Billy Dee Williams as Billy Dee Williams, Lainie Kazan as Eleanor, Paris Smith as Becca, Brielle Barbusca as Joyce, Hansford Rowe as Bugs, Lyle Kanouse as Hugo, Kevin Kirkpatrick as Robby, Guerin Barry as waiter, Clint Tauscher as Sebastian, William Dennis Hunt as elderly gentleman, Justin James Hughes as Gus, Hamilton Mitchell as bartender no. 2 and Khali MacIntyre as Zoey.

"New Year's Eve" was written by Abraham Higginbotham and Jeffrey Richman, and directed by Fred Goss.
