Broadway's Rosie O'Donnell Reveals 50 Lb. Weight Loss on Twitter
Broadway vet, TV host and comedian Rosie O'Donnell turned to Twitter to share her new fit and healthy physique following a remarkable 50 lb. weight loss. The actress tweeted before and after photos of herself yesterday along with the caption: "Almost 50 lbs off - I can see it now"
O'Donnell revealed in in February that she had undergone gastric sleeve surgery in 2013, and weighed 230 pounds at the time of the operation. She shared that her doctors hoped she would reach an eventual weight of 150 pounds.
"I did what many woman do, and I did not take care of myself," said the 52-year-old during an event for the American Heart Association. "And that's why I'm here, to try to get women to know you're worth it, take care of yourself and know the symptoms."
On May 15th, O'Donnell will reunite with the other 10 women who have served as hosts of "The View" to honor retiring "View" founder and legendary journalist Barbara Walters.
O'Donnell recently guest-starred on ABC Family's hit series, The Fosters as Rita Henricks, a tough yet compassionate woman who works in the foster care system and is a mentor to a member of the Foster family. O'Donnell's first appearance on January 20 helped The Fosters to garner a series high in total viewers. The actress has appeared on Broadway in 'Grease,' 'Seussical' and 'Fiddler on the Roof.'
