Happy Fangs Announce Upcoming Tour Dates
San Francisco's Happy Fangs - Rebecca Gone Bad, Michael Cobra, Jess G - are excited to announce their first cross country tour with Jess G on drums. The June North American run kicks off in NYC with a show at Pianos on June 12th and after a few Northeast dates, heads to The Empty Bottle in Chicago for a show on June 17th. On the 18th, Rebecca Gone Bad returns to her hometown city Pittsburgh, PA. Happy Fangs will play at Club Café, the venue where RGB played her first concert ever. Soon after, the band join Saint Vincent, Sleigh Bells, and many others for their first ever NXNE festival performance in Toronto before returning to NYC on June 21st for a second gig, this time at Muchmore's in Williamsburg.
Formerly a duo, Happy Fangs released their self-titled debut EP in October 2013. They quickly became hometown heroes and earned support from a slew of Bay Area outlets including Boing Boing, SF Chronicle, SF Bay Guardian, and local NPR affiliate KQED, who exclaimed, "What's not to love about Happy Fangs? Raw, out of breath, out of mind, it's easy to lose yourself in their commotion." The band supported the release with San Francisco area shows and an appearance at New York's CMJ Music Marathon. Their energetic pom-pom punk induced live shows soon garnered comparisons to Bikini Kill, Blondie, and Siouxie. To close out 2013, Happy Fangs premiered a quirky tune "All I Want for Christmas Is Halloween" which made SPIN's Indie Rock Christmas holiday song round-up.
