Chris Pine On INTO THE WOODS Movie: 'It Felt Like A Real Summer Stock Theatre Company'
Internationally recognized film and stage star Chris Pine discusses participating in the forthcoming hotly anticipated Disney big screen adaptation of Stephen Sondheim and James Lapine's celebrated fairy tale-themed musical INTO THE WOODS as part of a new interview.
"One of the best experiences to date of my professional life," Pine passionately remarks of the project, featuring mega-stars Meryl Streep and Johnny Depp in two of its most iconic roles, with Pine more than merely well-cast as a comely, if slightly dim, prince (Cinderella's, no less).
Furthermore, Pine says, "It's stunning - it's going to look beautiful. Dion Beebe shot it - who shot MEMOIRS OF A GEISHA and COLLATERAL. It's shot beautifully."
Additionally, Pine teases of the lavish costumes created by another Academy Award-winning prior collaborator of director Rob Marshall, Colleen Atwood: "Colleen Atwood did the costume design - Colleen Atwood is Colleen Atwood!"
Lastly, Pine opines, "I don't want to jinx anything, but it was so much fun to make - it felt like a real kind of summer stock theatre company coming together and it was just great fun."
INTO THE WOODS is set to be released on Christmas Day.
