Betty Black Returns with 'Come Back Lover' Single
Betty Black returns with her explosive new single "Come Back Lover". The fiery, retro psychedelic pop anthem about losing someone to distance and the "call of the wild" roars with gritty guitars, driving bass and swathes of swirling textures (think Phil Spector meets Jesus and Mary Chain) punctuated by Gordon's confident, dreamy and sensuous vocals and infectious melody.
Written, arranged, produced and performed by Black and co-producer/engineer Rudyard Lee Cullers (Yeah Yeah Yeahs/ Basement Jaxx/ Bright Eyes), the track is the lead offering from Betty Black's highly-anticipated sophomore album Valley Low (set for release in fall 2014) and offers a glimpse into the set's more vibrant and psychedelic soundscapes. The single (released digitally worldwide today via Frau Pink / KID Recordings) will be followed by the striking video (directed and edited by Black) and a remix package featuring mixes by Lauren Flax (CREEP), Deantoni Parks (KUDU, Mars Volta, John Cale, Meshell Ndegeocello) and Stan Soze.
Betty Black is the brainchild of multi-talented singer/songwriter, producer, musician and musical chameleon Sylvia Black (aka Sylvia Gordon) whose amassed a highly respectable body of work, serving as the lead vocalist for Brooklyn electronic dance-pop outfit KUDU and for her co-writing and collaborations with Black Eyed Peas, Moby, William Orbit, Télépopmusik, Kelis, The Noisettes, Spank Rock, Benny Benassi, The Knocks and RUN DMT.
