FAMILY WEEKEND, Feat. Kristin Chenoweth, Set for VOD Release This Week

According to Deadline, FAMILY WEEKEND, starring Broadway's beloved Kristin Chenoweth, as well as Shirley Jones and Matthew Modine, is set to be released on premium VOD beginning this Thursday, Feb. 28. The film will also receive a theatrical release later this spring, on March 29.

In FAMILY WEEKEND, Benjamin Epps' directorial debut, when a 16-year-old girl becomes fed-up with her self-absorbed family's lack of attention and affection - she decides to take matters into her own hands - and take her parents hostage. The cast also includes Olesya Rulin, Joey King, and Eddie Hassell.

Best known for originating the role of Glinda in the original cast of the smash hit musical Wicked, Kristin is one of Broadway's most celebrated stars, and has garnered a multitude of theatrical achievements, including her Tony, Drama Desk and Outer Critics Circle Award winning performance as Sally in You're A Good Man Charlie Brown, Eve in The Apple Tree and, most recently, Fran Kubelik in Promises, Promises. As a result, Kristin has become one of Broadway's most sought after actresses. One of her most unique accolades is having been invited to sing for President Obama, Her Majesty The Queen and Oprah Winfrey.

Kristin has also carved out an impressive TV career, including recurring roles as Annabeth Schott in The West Wing, her Emmy Award winning performance as Olive Snook in Pushing Daisies, and her Emmy nominated performance as April Rhodes in GLEE. The star has also racked up a number of high profile films alongside some of Hollywood's biggest names, and a huge cult following for a recent US TV series called GCB. Chenoweth also recently served as a pre-show contributor at the 85th Annual Academy Awards, and performed a show-stopping number with Oscars' host Seth MacFarlane to close out the telecast.
