Home Entertainment will encode thousands of movies and television programs in the UltraViolet Common File Format (CFF) using Dolby Digital Plus, the premium audio standard for mobile and connected entertainment.

UltraViolet provides consumers with a unique way to conveniently enjoy their movies and TV shows. By taking full advantage of the benefits of the cloud, consumers can download and stream their entertainment collections anytime, anywhere for viewing on TV screens, personal computers, tablets, and mobile phones. Once the UltraViolet CFF launches later this year, Sony Pictures Home Entertainment, Universal Pictures, and Warner Bros. Home Entertainment will deliver thousands of movies and TV series with Dolby Digital Plus sound.
