Parnell Damone Marcano Joins Cast of Old Dogs & New Tricks Assumes Role of 'Neal' in Hit Web Series
Noted LA stage actor Parnell Damone Marcano has joined the cast of the award-winning hit web series Old Dogs & New Tricks. He assumes the role of workaholic "Neal," played in Season 2 by Doug Spearman.
Parnell makes his first appearance on the show in its upcoming Halloween special, "WeHo Horror Story," shooting this month. He appeared in ODNT's first season as one of Brad' sexual conquests.
"I have been a fan of ODNT since it's inception, so being asked to join the cast is a huge honor!" says Parnell. "Plus the cast are all my personal friends, so it'll be like hanging out with my buds!"
Among his numerous stage credits, Parnell appeared in a production of Naked Boys Singing, which was co-written by his on-screen ODNT "husband" "Ross," played byDavid Pevsner.
"We're sad to see Doug go," says series creator/actor Leon Acord about Spearman, who is unable to continue with the show due to scheduling conflicts. "But I'm very happy to welcome Parnell to our family. We had a blast working with him in the first season. He's incredibly dedicated and brave. I can't wait to see what he does with the part!"
Ironically, Parnell is the third actor to portray Ross' absentee husband. Originally conceived as an off-screen role, Neal was voiced in a phone-call scene in the series' first season by producer Laurence Whiting.
Old Dogs & New Tricks stars Acord, Curt Bonnem, Jeffrey Patrick Olson & Pevsner as four middle-aged gay friends looking for love in youth-obsessed West Hollywood. Written and created by Acord, the show received "Outstanding Dramedy" and "Outstanding Ensemble" honors at the 2012 LA WebFest. Catch the entire series atwww.OldDogsNewTricksTheSeries.com.
