New York Flyers Present the Laurie Harris Hope and Dreams 5K, 8/10
The New York Flyers present the Laurie Harris Hope and Dreams 5K to benefit pancreatic cancer research at memorial Sloan Kettering. The race will be held Saturday, August 10th, 2013 on Roosevelt Island.
The Laurie Harris Hope and Dreams 5K will be the first race the Flyers have ever organized and held as a club, and it honors longstanding teammate Laurie Harris, who has spent the last 18 months battling pancreatic cancer with the same grace and strength you've always seen her show on the roads and in the park. A percentage of race proceeds will benefit the Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center, where Laurie receives treatment, and the work of Dr. Kenneth Liu, her oncologist. Whether you get involved as a runner, a sponsor locator, a course volunteer, or just come out to wish Laurie well, we hope you'll join us on race day and in all the days between now and then to show your support. If you have leads into potential sponsors or can volunteer to be part of the planning, please contact Alan.
