Fitness Tip of the Day: Cut the Cardio

A big misconception is that by doing long periods of cardio, particularly the continuous, low-intensity type, that you will burn a lot of calories. However, that type of workout can actually be counter-productive, making the body hold on to its energy sources.

The better workout is to do short bursts of high intensity exercises (HIIT), and add strength training to burn more fat and shape your body into lean muscle.
