John Galliano is Vogue UK's Guest Editor
Galliano has been slowly entering back into the fashion scene since he was dismissed as the creative director of Dior after making an anti-Semitic rant in Paris. For the photo shoot, the designer poses alongside model, and friend, Moss, wearing a top hat and tails. Galliano appears to be taking a self-portrait of himself and Moss, who looks like she stepped right out of the 1920's with slicked-back hair, a yellow, fur coat and pencil-thin eyebrows reminscent of Greta Garbo. The image was shot by Vogue favourite, Tim Walker.
"The scene is set. I lean into Kate's ear. 'Can you keep a secret?'" writes Galliano in the text accompanying the shoot. He continues: "I am now feeling so much love in this studio that it takes me back. Her only script is the dress she's wearing."
Vogue editor Alexandra Shulman commented: "When I asked John to write a few words to describe his concept for the shoot, I didn't expect such a vivid picture to arrive."
