Brad Oscar to Join Cast of NICE WORK IF YOU CAN GET IT on 1/8


The producers of the Tony-winning hit musical comedy Nice Work If You Can Get It have announced that Tony Award nominee Brad Oscar will perform the role of 'Cookie McGee' beginning tomorrow, Tuesday, January 8th during Michael McGrath's two month leave of absence. This reunites Mr. Oscar with Matthew Broderick for the first time since they starred together in the original cast of The Producers.

Brad Oscar was last seen on Broadway in The Addams Family and his previous Broadway credits include The Producers (Tony nomination), Spamalot, Jekyll & Hyde, Aspects of Love. He also appeared on the West End in The Producers. He has appeared in the national tours of Young Frankenstein and Jekyll & Hyde. Off-Broadway he has been seen in Forbidden Broadway, Encores! Bells Are Ringing, Do Re Mi. Regional credits include Fiddler on the Roof (Barrington Stage); Barnum (Asolo/Maltz Jupiter; Carbonell Award, Best Actor - Musical); The Mystery of Irma Vep, Cabaret, Damn Yankees (Arena Stage); First Wives Club (Old Globe). He has appeared in the films Ghost Town and The Producers; and on TV in The Good Wife, Smash and Law & Order.

NICE WORK IF YOU CAN GET IT, featuring music and lyrics by George Gershwin and Ira Gershwin and a book by two-time Tony Award-winner Joe DiPietro, stars two-time Tony Award-winner Matthew Broderick and Kelli O'Hara. The production is directed and choreographed by three-time Tony Award-winner Kathleen Marshall. The production is playing at Broadway's Imperial Theatre (249 West 45th Street).

In addition to Matthew Broderick as Jimmy Winter, Kelli O'Hara as Billie Bendix and Brad Oscar as Cookie McGee, the production also stars Tony and Emmy Award-winner Blythe Danner as Millicent Winter, two time Tony Award-winner Judy Kaye as Estonia Dulworth, Tony Award nominee Jennifer Laura Thompson as Eileen Evergreen, Chris Sullivan as Duke Mahoney, Robyn Hurder as Jeannie Muldoon, Stanley Wayne Mathis as Chief Berry and Tony Award nominee Terry Beaver as Senator Max Evergreen.
