Rachel Wallace, Nicolas Dromard

Center Theatre Group, Disney Theatrical Productions and Cameron Mackintosh presents the award-winning musical MARY POPPINS at the Center Theatre Group/Ahmanson Theatre in Los Angeles.  Rachel Wallace stars as Mary Poppins, while original Broadway company member Nicolas Dromard assumes the role of Bert. THIS WEEK IN PICTURES: August 11 - 17
Jonathan Groff, Alfred Molina

Broadway veteran and GLEE star Jonathan Groff stars opposite original cast member Alfred Molina in the Los Angeles premiere of RED at the Mark Taper Forum. Groff plays Ken in the play, alongside Molina who reprises his Tony-nominated role as Mark Rothko. The stars came out to celebrate the production's opening night on Sunday, August 12. Andrea Lynn Green, Jane Houdyshell

Primary Stages launched its 28th season on August 14 with HARRISON,TX: Three Plays by Horton Foote. Tony Award nominees HAllie Foote and Jayne Houdyshell head up an ensemble featuring Devon Abner, Mary Bacon, Jeremy Bobb. Helmed by Tony Award nominated director Pam MacKinnon(Clybourne Park), Harrison,TX: Three Plays by Horton Foote runs through September 15 at Primary Stages at 59E59 Theaters. Constantine Maroulis, Laura Osnes

On August 13, Broadway at Birdland presented multi-Grammy and Tony-nominated composer Frank Wildhorn in his monthly concert series called “Frank & Friends.” Joining Frank onstage were Constantine Maroulis (upcoming star of Jekyll & Hyde), Laura Osnes (Tony nominee/Bonnie & Clyde and upcoming Cinderella), Melissa van Der Schyff (Bonnie & Clyde) and Stark Sands (upcoming Kinky Boots). Victor Garber, Jennifer Garner

The stars came out for Victor Garber's opening night at 54 Below. Garber's "Alias" co-star Jennifer Garner, American Pie's Eugene Levy, Tony Award-winners Debra Monk and Susan Stroman were among the stars to visit with the star backstage following the performance. Sherri L. Edelen and Madeline Botteri

Signature Theatre kicked off its 2012/13 season with the Tony Award-winning musical comedy The Best Little Whorehouse in Texas, now playing through October 7, 2012. The production stars Helen Hayes Award-winner Sherri L. Edelen as the legendary Miss Mona Stangley, proprietor of the infamous brothel known as The Chicken Ranch. On August 14, the Tony Award-winning revival of the musical CHICAGO celebrated a razzle-dazzle decade with its longtime leading lady Bianca Marroquin. The Children of A Christmas Story, The Musical

The best of Broadway is presented FREE on Thursdays this summer with “106.7 Lite FM’s Broadway in Bryant Park 2012“ – a lunchtime series that began July 12 at 12:30 p.m. on the Bryant Park Stage. Featured in this week's event were the casts of A Christmas Story, The Musical, Nice Work If You Can Get It, Avenue Q, Bring It On, The Musical and Rock of Ages. THE Midtown Men, featuring Tony Award winner Christian Hoff, Michael Longoria, Daniel Reichard and Tony Award nomineeJ.Robert Spencer, are in New York for television appearances on Good Morning America, Good Day New York and New York Live before kicking off their 2012/2013 US tour in Asbury Park, NJ on August 18 at the Paramount Theater.
