John Grisham Offers Approval Of 'Terrific' TIME TO KILL Stage AdaptationIn a new statement offered by legendary best-selling novelist John Grisham in relation to the just-opened stage adaptation of his seminal novel A TIME TO KILL, the author states he approves of the new Broadway production and its use of his material.

Grisham states, "The stage adaptation of A TIME TO KILL is terrific. I was lucky enough to watch it with my family and we were thoroughly entertained. The story is faithful to the book. The cast breathes new energy into characters I created almost 30 years ago. The courtroom scenes capture the raw emotion of the trial. I can't wait to see it again."

The official description of A TIME TO KILL on Broadway is as follows: "A Time to Kill tells the emotionally charged, incendiary story of a young, idealistic lawyer, Jake Brigance, defending a black man, Carl Lee Hailey, for taking the law into his own hands following an unspeakable crime committed against his young daughter. Their small Mississippi town is thrown into upheaval, and Jake finds himself arguing against the formidable district attorney, Rufus Buckley, and under attack from both sides of a racially divided city. This thrilling courtroom drama remains as grippingly relevant today as it was when Grisham's story was first published in 1989."

A TIME TO KILL is written by Rupert Holmes, based on the novel by John Grisham, with direction by Ethan McSweeny. More information is available at the official site here.
