FROZEN Soundtrack Hits #1 On Billboard Chart, Besting BeyonceThe soundtrack for Disney's super-successful animated movie musical FROZEN has officially hit #1 on the Billboard Top 200 Albums charts, knocking Beyonce's most recent self-titled release out of the top spot.

The final numbers are in and the FROZEN soundtrack has sold over 165,000 copies, beating Beyonce's 130,000.

Additionally, Disney's FROZEN is currently the #1 film in the country, as well.

BroadwayWorld also reported earlier today that Idina Menzel's "Let It Go" from the film has cracked the iTunes Top 20 and Billboard Hot 100, with even more information on the matter available here.

The official synopsis for FROZEN is as follows: "Fearless optimist Anna (voice of Kristen Bell) sets off on an epic journey-teaming up with rugged mountain man Kristoff (voice of Jonathan Groff) and his loyal reindeer Sven-to find her sister Elsa (voice of Idina Menzel), whose icy powers have trapped the kingdom of Arendelle in eternal winter. Encountering Everest-like conditions, mystical trolls and a hilarious snowman named Olaf (voice of Josh Gad), Anna and Kristoff battle the elements in a race to save the kingdom."

FROZEN is directed by Chris Buck and Jennifer Lee, with a screenplay by Jennifer Lee and Shane Morris based on the Hans Christian Andersen story THE SNOW QUEEN. FROZEN stars the voice talents of Kristen Bell, Idina Menzel, Jonathan Groff, Santino Fontana, Josh Gad and more.

FROZEN was released in the US on November 27 and is currently in theaters nationwide.
