by Kelle Long - October 07, 2019
Grand sets and spectacle draw crowds, but the basis of all great theater is human connection and that can be born from sparsity. The Wheel Theatre Company's highly affordable presentation of William Shakespeare's A Winter's Tale is a perfect reminder that authentic theatrical experiences occur wherever passionate players gather.

BWW Review: Ford's Theatre's FENCES - A Fascinating, New Take On A Wilson Classic
by Andrew White - October 04, 2019
It won't be the novelty of these plays that will continue to draw us to Wilson's compelling portraits of the Hill District in Pittsburgh; it will be his indelibly drawn characters given new life by artists putting their own personal stamp on his work. August Wilson is meant to be savored live; he can't be contained in a damned DVD box. And with local heroes like Craig Wallace and Erika Rose as the headliners, it's not to be missed.

ARRIVAL will perform some of ABBA's greatest hits, including Dancing Queen, Mamma Mia, Take a Chance, Waterloo, Fernando, and more. In fact, Universal Music certified in 2010 that ABBA has sold more than 375 million records and still sells about 5 million each year. ARRIVAL from Sweden was founded by Vicky Zetterberg in 1995 in Gothenburg, Sweden, and very soon became one of the world's most popular and best-selling ABBA tribute bands. BWW Review: GET THEE TO THE IMPROVISED SHAKESPEARE COMPANY at The John F. Kennedy Center For The Performing Arts
by Evann Normandin - October 03, 2019
There are just a few seats left for The Improvised Shakespeare Company's last few performances during its limited run at The Kennedy Center, and you're going to want to buy a ticket. A group of five outrageously talented performers takes one audience suggestion for the title of a play that is yet to be written and transforms it into a riotous, 90-minute Shakespearean masterpiece before your eyes. If your experience is anything like mine, you will enter the theatre contemplative and work-weary and leave smiling ear to ear, sharing knowing looks with other theatre-goers as if to say a?oedid we all really just witness that?!a?? If this sounds effusive, it's meant to. The Improvised Shakespeare Company is an experience not to be missed.
