Mad Cow Theatre is thrilled to announce the cast and creative team of Garson Kanin's delicious screwball classic Born Yesterday, which will take the Harriett stage Nov. 17, 2017 as the third production of Mad Cow Theatre's Season 21.

Born Yesterday is a great American comedy about politics and the power of female persuasion. It's a classic from yesterday that feels all too relevant today.

Set in a fine hotel in Washington D.C., Born Yesterday tells the story of Harry Brock, a hot-tempered and corrupt tycoon, and Billie Dawn, his ex-showgirl mistress, as they navigate the Washington political scene. The brash, over-the-top Billie gets an extreme makeover from a political reporter hired by her bullying boyfriend. But she receives more than a history lesson when she learns who Harry really is and what he really wants.

"We still have a little something to learn from Born Yesterday," said Mitzi Maxwell, Mad Cow Theatre's executive director. "There are always people who are looking to subvert our laws and to pocket stolen cash. Our heroes in Born Yesterday are two ordinary people who stand up to corrupt power in all its forms. Like our comedians and late-night talk-show hosts, the protagonists in Born Yesterday speak out for all of us."

At Mad Cow, Jamie-Lyn Markos (The Maids) will play Billie Dawn, and Mark Gray Miller* will play Harry Brock. The cast also includes Duncan Bahr as Paul Verrall, Holland Hayes* (Orlando Science Play Festival) as Ed Devery, Jim McClellan (Orlando Science Play Festival) as Sen. Norval Hedges, Kate Thomas-Denson as Mrs. Hedges/Helen, Ryan Lynch as Eddie Brock and Damany Riley (Big River, Fences) as the Bellhop.

Director Tony Simotes** (Fences, The God Game, Painting Churches) returns to Mad Cow and is joined by scenic designer Robert F. Wolin*** (Fences, Three Sisters, Pygmalion, 1776), lighting designer Eric Craft (Animal Crackers, Big River, Grounded), sound designer Daniel Meyer (Grounded) and costume coordinator Janine Papin.
