State St.) October 22-27 as part of the PNC Broadway in Columbus 2019-20 season. Mean Girls features a book by nine-time Emmy Award winner Tina Fey, based on her screenplay for the film, music by three-time Emmy Award winner Jeff Richmond, and lyrics by two-time Tony Award nominee Nell Benjamin. Tony Award winner Casey Nicholaw directs and choreographs.

Deadline reports that previously-announced 'Saturday Night Live' cast member Shane Gillis will no longer be joining the show. It was revealed in the past week that Gillis' comedy relies heavily on racial slurs.

On Monday, September 16, 2019, The New York Innovative Theatre Foundation announced the 2019 recipients at the annual Off-Off-Broadway IT Awards. For the past 15 years, the It Awards have celebrated the vibrant and creative indie theatre community under the dedicated leadership of Executive Directors Shay Gines and Nick Micozzi who are stepping down and at the ceremony introduced new leadership for the organization: Cat Parker, Artistic Director of Articulate Theatre Company; Ariel Estrada, Producing Artistic Director of Leviathan Lab Projects; and Jazmyn Arroyo, Co-Founding Artistic Director of Step 1 Theatre Project will join Akia Squiteri, Artistic Director of Rising Sun Performance Company as Directors of the organization.

RuPaul's Dragcon Dazzles With 100,000 Attendees in 2019

Emmy ® Award-winners RuPaul and World of Wonder (“RuPaul's Drag Race,” “Million Dollar Listing,” “Out Of Iraq,” upcoming HBO documentary “Liberty: Mother of Exiles”) hosted the third annual RuPaul's DragCon NYC at the Javits Convention Center this weekend. The drag and pop culture extravaganza welcomed 100,000 attendees between the LA and NYC events in 2019, with over 150 of the world's top drag queens mixing and mingling with fans of all ages and backgrounds. World of Wonder made major announcements out of the convention, including the news of the “RuPaul's Drag Race Live!” Las Vegas residency coming in January 2020, and the international expansion of the massively successful convention with 2020's RuPaul's DragCon UK. Vicki Knight Heads to Palm Desert for Cabaret Show

The show will feature songs from Vicki's past, singing songs for her days performing at nightclubs in Canada, along with some of those funny stories she is known. YouTube Makes All New Original Series And Specials Free Starting Today

 YouTube today officially kicked off its new strategy of making its original series and specials free with ads by dropping the critically-acclaimed and fan-favorite first season of “Cobra Kai” in front of the paywall for a limited time with season 2 premiering on September 11. Previously, only the first two episodes of season 1 and the first episode of season 2 were available to sample in front of the paywall. Beginning today, fans without a YouTube Premium subscription can binge watch the entire first season of “Cobra Kai.” On Wednesday, September 11, season 2 will premiere in front of the paywall for a limited time with one episode dropping each week. “Cobra Kai” is an international smash with the first episode of season 1 boasting nearly 55 million views and the first episode of season 2 besting the season 1 premiere by 136%, making it the fastest YouTube Original to hit 20 million views in just 6 days. Production on season 3 will begin shortly. The series, produced by Sony Pictures Television, is written and executive produced by Josh Heald, Jon Hurwitz and Hayden Schlossberg.

Local new works theater company Trademark Theater is heading into production for its third World Premiere. The Hollow, Trademark's most ambitious production yet, is a stunning mix of music, movement and visuals combined to create a new, boundary-breaking piece of theater. The Hollow will run from October 2nd through October 20th, 2019 at the Tek Box in the Cowles Center for Dance and the Performing Arts in Downtown Minneapolis.
