5-STAR THEATRICALS has announced the third show of its 2021-2022 season, the regional premiere of Disney’s NEWSIES, book by Harvey Fierstein, music by Alan Menken, lyrics by Jack Feldman, musical conductor and direction by Wilkie Ferguson, associate director & choreography Anthony Raimondi and directed & choreographed by Richard J. After a two-year delay due to COVID, this long-awaited So. Cal. production of NEWSIES---currently on stage at the Cerritos Center for the Performing Arts through May 29, 2022---marks the much-anticipated live and in-person return of 3-D Theatricals. The wait, as the saying goes, was worth it.

The award-winning Pittsburgh Playhouse at Point Park University, a multidisciplinary arts and entertainment center located in Downtown Pittsburgh, announced the lineup for their Inside/Outside Summer Series as well as over 30 performances across a multitude of arts disciplines for the 2022-2023 season.

3-D THEATRICALS is finally back and are thrilled to invite you to “Seize the Day” as they present the high-flying NEWSIES, book by Harvey Fierstein, music by Alan Menken, lyrics by Jack Feldman, musical conductor is Julie Lamoureux, vocal director is Crystal Barron, choreography by Chaz Wolcott (recreating the original Broadway choreography by Christopher Gattelli) and directed by T.J. Dawson. NEWSIES will preview on Friday, May 13, 2022 (with a press opening on Saturday, May 14 at 8pm) and runs through Sunday, May 29, 2022 at Cerritos Center for the Performing Arts, 18000 Park Plaza Drive in Cerritos.  

Quintessence Theatre Group, Philadelphia's professional classic repertory theatre, will conclude with Season XII: Breaking the Cycle with a rotating repertory of Pearl Cleage’s epic historical fiction Flyin' West and Alexandre Dumas fils’ enduring tragic romance Camille.

Organizers of the GI Film Festival San Diego are thrilled to announce a diverse film lineup for its annual event happening May 17-21, 2022 at the Museum of Photographic Arts (MOPA) in Balboa Park. The film festival is dedicated to presenting films and events for, by and about military and veterans, and is set to return to in-person screenings for the first time since 2019. So it is with NEWSIES, the opening production of The Henegar Center’s 31st season, which brings the classic Disney musical to vivid life in Melbourne with an exciting and highly polished production that shares the story of how a few young men 'seized the day' and made a real impact.

The Gateway will open NEWSIES to fully vaccinated audiences beginning August 25th at Patchogue Theatre. The entire company including all actors, musicians, technical support personnel, directors, designers, box office and admin staff have all been fully vaccinated for Covid-19. 

Disney's Newsies, presented by The Gateway, will be the first full-scale professional production at the Patchogue Theatre since shutting down due to the pandemic. It will run from August 25 through September 11th.

Bated Breath Theatre Company has announced that the final performance of VOYEUR: THE WINDOWS OF TOULOUSE-LAUTREC will be Saturday, July 31. VOYEUR, which was conceived and directed by Mara Lieberman, began performances on September 30, 2020 and will have run 356 performances at closing.
