Just close your eyes at the Longacre Theatre and you will be transported from the heart of New York City to 20th century Vienna. That is thanks to the maticuous work of Adam Cork, who acted as Sound Designer and created original music for Tom Stoppard's Leopoldstadt.

Tucked among agricultural fields and university bustle in the small town of Davis is a community staple that is treasured by locals. For 38 years, Davis Musical Theatre Company has been a fixture in the community theatre world in the Sacramento region. Its Main Stage and Young Performers’ Theatre is open to theatre lovers of all ages and skill levels, and appeals to audiences who are looking for Broadway music locally in Davis. Their current season continues with Disney’s Newsies, which is directed and choreographed by Kyle Jackson. Based on the 1992 movie, Newsies opened on Broadway in 2012 and was nominated for 8 Tony Awards, taking home wins for Best Choreography and Best Original Score.

Disney's Newsies will close out StoryBook Theatre's 46th Season of Inspiration, running from May 12 - June 3, 2023 on Tuesdays to Saturdays at 7 p.m. and Saturdays & Sundays at 2 p.m. Audiences will be welcomed to experience a show that's filled with love, perseverance, overcoming adversity, standing up for others, as well as spotlighting the importance of community and collaboration.

EXTRA EXTRA!! Stages Theatre Company has announced the cast and creative team for Disney's Newsies JR.

Mercury Studios in cooperation with Jazz Casual Productions, Inc., will release Duke Ellington: Love You Madly/ A Concert of Sacred Music at Grace Cathedral on April 28, 2023.

These two Emmy-nominated programs, out of print the past few years, from producer Ralph J. Gleason feature: a 1965 documentary that explores the life and legacy of Ellington, perhaps the greatest single American composer, and the September 1965 commissioned premiere Ellington’s Concert of Sacred Music at San Francisco’s Grace Cathedral.

The 2023 Oxford Film Festival (March 1-5) has announced the lineup of official selections and events for the 20th Anniversary annual edition of the popular film festival. Lisa Cortes' documentary Little Richard: I am Everything is the Opening Night selection, and Michael Stevantoni and Strack Azar's The Banality is the Closing Night selection.

The Moving Memory Project will return in 2023 for an in-person presentation of works by NYC-based dance artists, presented under the title Sense Memory.

Newsies, Disney's tale based on a true story about the 1899 Newsboys strike in New York City will take center stage at Dublin Coffman High School (DCHS) kicking off the 2022-2023 theater season.
