Broadway Sessions, the beloved long running musical theatre variety show, returns to The Laurie Beechman Theatre this coming Thursday evening, March 3rd. This Thursday, Broadway favorite Ellyn Marie Marsh (Kinky Boots, Priscilla, The Rose Tattoo, Obsessed with Disappeared podcast ) takes the stage as the special guest host.

The spotlight will be turned on swings, standbys and understudies. Cast members from several shows will perform as well as share stories of their experiences swinging and understudying. Scheduled to perform are Holly Ann Butler (Come from Away, Diana), Mateo Lizcano (Dear Evan Hansen), Lindsay Roberts Greene (Phantom of the Opera), Josh Daniels (Little Shop of Horrors), Yael ‘Ya Ya’ Reich (Hadestown) and Kathy Voytko ( The Music Man). The evening will also feature performances by up and comers Reid Burton from Rochester, New York  and Caroline Geringer from St. Louis. 

Lyric Theatre of Oklahoma will open its 2022 season this spring with the world premiere Native American Musical Distant Thunder.

The 92Y School of Music has announced new guests for their popular interview series, Cabaret Conversations, now in its second year: Lillias White (Nov 1), Ben Cameron (No 22), and Ricky Ritzel (Dec 13). Previous speakers in the BroadwayWorld Cabaret Award-nominated series have included Chita Rivera and Joe Iconis, among others.

Now well into its second year, the 92Y chat show series helmed by Michael Kirk Lane announces exciting guests.

Chelsea Halfpenny with join the cast as Jenna in the smash hit romantic musical comedy WAITRESS as from 10 January 2022. Chelsea will take over the role from Lucie Jones who leaves the production to move on to a soon to be announced new project.

The nationally recognized TYA company, which reaches tens of thousands of St. Louis-area students and families each year, has also appointed two celebrated St. Louis theatre performers/directors as associate artists.

Dennis Quaid has announced dates for his fall 2021 tour, ahead of the release of his upcoming album, which is set for 2022. The shows will feature covers, original music, and stories about Quaid's career in film.

As a sequel to the first gala concert last week featuring some of the company’s most celebrated and beloved performers, MSMT presents two more special performances of its STARS #2 Concert on August 8-9. This second gala, directed once again by Curt Dale Clark with Ben McNaboe as Music Director, features four other nationally prominent artists who have been closely associated with the theatre - Felicia P. Fields, Heidi Kettenring, David Girolmo, and Gregg Goodbrod – in a program of story and song that dazzles and delights with its brilliance, humor, and warmth. One of Artistic Director Curt Dale Clark’s many talents is his ability to discover, retain, and nurture talent – from young artists to seasoned performers – and to create performances that tap into each individual artist’s best selves. This gala (as in the first) has been proof of that, as each artist is showcased in musical theatre numbers that have defined his/her careers. The evening is fast-paced, witty, and poignant by turns, allowing the audience to revel in the emotional ride that fine theatre provides.
