BWW Review: THE HEIRESS at Arena Stage
by Rachael Goldberg - Feb 17, 2019

Perhaps the biggest problem with 'The Heiress' is that it's difficult to invest in. It's hard to root for Catherine Beyond hoping she tells Morris off, and that's more about dislike of him than support for her. After all, we can all get behind telling off a bad ex. It's just a shame that The Heiress doesn't give us the opportunity to go deeper than that. (more...)

BWW Review: Wolf Trap Opera and Washington Concert Opera Elevate LE VIN HERBE
by Sam Abney - Feb 16, 2019

When you think about Wolf Trap, you probably think of their stunning outdoor Filene Center where their summer performance series takes place. The chosen source material might not be the most compelling-but this co-production elevates the work Beyond the middling libretto. (more...)

Fresh off an extraordinarily successful film festival run, Ann Lupo (“Documented”) shares her exciting new voice as a filmmaker in her feature film directorial debut “In Reality.” “In Reality” takes us Beyond the established romantic comedy rules, held steadfast since the 1980's, into the confusing morass that is dating in 2019, where communication is often missing as we search for a real connection. A dynamic female-led production led by a gifted self-taught first time filmmaker. Lupo tackles the complex filmmaking disciplines of directing, writing and editing while emerging as the voice of a generation. “In Reality” speaks to our search for love in a world overcome with friend-zone frenzy and erratic hook-ups masquerading love. The filmmakers have chosen to partner with Giant Pictures to release the film theatrically in Los Angeles, CA on March 29th, 2019, before expanding into other markets as it will also make its VOD/Digital debut on April 2nd, 2019 alongside its theatrical run. BWW Review: RAGTIME Revival Couldn't Come at a Better Time
by Ellen Dostal - Feb 15, 2019

How do you scale down an epic musical like RAGTIME for a smaller stage and a different time? When it opened at the Shubert Theatre in Century City in 1997, the cast numbered nearly fifty, the same as it would for its Broadway debut later that year.
