Seattle Center today announced a new partnership with Levy Restaurants to manage food and beverage service in Center House and elsewhere on the 74-acre campus. The initial agreement extends to July 1, 2014 and covers services essential to elevating food service offerings and standards in keeping with strong public demand articulated through the development of the Seattle Center Century 21 Master Plan.

The Seattle Center-Levy partnership comes as Center House renovations begin to refresh and reshape the Food Court area and open it to the outdoors through installation of large windows and doors. Key elements of the agreement will be visible as Seattle Center celebrates the 50th anniversary of the 1962 World's Fair, six months of exciting activities, attractions and entertainment, April 21 - Oct. 21, 2012. The partnership also will help fulfill the Seattle Center Century 21 Master Plan vision of the Food Court to serve as an active, open hub that connects people and campus destinations, accommodates a dynamic mix of programs and services and houses restaurants, cafes and retail catering to a variety of tastes and price levels.

In keeping with the Seattle Center vision and mission, Levy will manage and market a range of food and beverage options, including: full service restaurants and bars, Food Court restaurants, portable carts and kiosks, and beer gardens in designated areas in Center House and on the Seattle Center grounds. Their plans will take shape over the next 18 months.
The Food Court changes reflect the City's need to operate in a more competitive market place. Center House operations have not changed substantially in the last 15 years. The partnership establishes standards of food quality and production, while ensuring that key performance indicators and revenue goals are met. Levy will work directly with tenants on menus, pricing and presentation to optimize the visitor experience.

"Seattle Center fully embraces the need to bring Center House food services in line with industry standards. Consumer preferences and choices change over time, and as in any retail environment, we must keep pace. We are excited about the possibilities the partnership presents for us to optimize our operations and effectively serve the community," said Seattle Center Director Robert Nellams.
