Disney's ALADDIN to Make Its Premiere at San Jose's Center for the Performing Arts

Broadway San Jose, a Nederlander Presentation, is pleased to announce that Disney's Aladdin, the hit Broadway musical, will play an exclusive two-week engagement at San Jose's Center for the Performing Arts (255 S. Almaden Blvd.) beginning Wednesday, April 10, 2019 and running through Sunday, April 21, 2019. Press night is set for Friday, April 12 at 8 p.m.

Berkeley Rep Announces Teen One Acts Festival

Today the Berkeley Rep School of Theatre announced the presentation of its 17th annual Teen One-Acts Festival. The 2019 festival features three plays written by Bay Area high school students: Help Wanted: A Witness, written by Nandi Maunder, a senior at The Branson School; Oneironauts, written by Eleanor Boes, a junior at Marin Academy; and a staged reading of Dream Collector written by Zeke Gerwein, a senior at Oakland School for the Arts. The festival will take place on Saturday, April 6 at 7:30pm and Sunday, April 7, 2019 at 2pm at Berkeley Rep Peet's Theatre. Adult tickets are $15 and youth tickets are $10. Tickets are available online at https://www.berkeleyrep.org/teenoneacts and in person at the performance.
Curran And 'New York Times' Presents BEYOND BORDERS

Carole Shorenstein Hays announced today Curran and New York Times will present Beyond Borders on Tuesday, February 26 at 7 p.m. One month before the theater transforms into a refugee camp's Afghan cafe for the West Coast debut of the celebrated new play THE JUNGLE, New York Times journalists will discuss how the U.S. treats its migrants and immigrants, addressing what is happening at the borders and in our cities, including sanctuary cities like San Francisco. The event is part of Curran's popular SHOW & TELL series, featuring topical one-night-only events. Tickets for Beyond Borders are $25-35 and available beginning Tuesday, February 12 at 10 a.m. on SFCURRAN.com.

San Francisco Opera Announces Casting Updates for 2019 Summer Season

Beginning June 5 and continuing through the 29th, San Francisco Opera presents a trio of extraordinary lyric works Georges Bizet's Carmen, George Frideric Handel's Orlando and Anton n Dvo k's Rusalka featuring powerful leading women in the title roles. Spanning three centuries and sung in French, Italian and Czech, the 2019 Summer Season repertory will occasion the Company debuts of four conductors, including two women, in productions that are new to the War Memorial Opera House stage.
