OSF, Adroit Construction And Mahar Homes Unveil New Residential Development

The Oregon Shakespeare Festival today announced it has entered into a 25-year lease on a new housing development two blocks from its main theatre campus in downtown Ashland. Plaza East, to be built and owned by Adroit Construction and Mahar Homes, located at 189 &199 Lithia Way, will include 34 residential units, with more than 6,000 square feet of commercial space suitable for offices or other uses. A groundbreaking ceremony takes place on Thursday, October 10 at 12:30 p.m.

The Lost Treasures Collection, a series of rarely performed musical gems, is back for a tenth season at Lakewood Theatre Company on its Side Door Stage. This year three musicals will be presented: The High Life (Oct 18-19, 2019), The Apple Tree (Feb. 21-22, 2020), and I Can Get It For You Wholesale (April 17-18, 2020). This year's theme is a?oeBarbara, Barbara, Barbra,a?? named for the three women (Barbara Cook, Barbara Harris, and Barbra Streisand) who originated their roles in these three shows. The musicals, staged in a concert/cabaret style, are presented script-in-hand, with minimal staging. No sets, no props (free from the usual trappings of a fully staged production).

The Brothers Paranormal by Prince Gomolvilas, presented as part of CoHo Season 24, marks the first co-production from Theatre Diaspora, a grassroots project started in 2014 to raise awareness and visibility for Asian American theatre and the stories of underrepresented communities through staged readings and community dialogue.

Plumbing this appalling, Ireland-specific institution that's a shockingly relevant parallel to current U.S. incarceration and immigration practices, as well as reproductive rights policy, the all-female cast includes Victoria Alvarez-Chacon, Lorraine Bahr, Wynee Hu, Sasha Neufeld, Dainichia Noreault, Lucy Paschall, and Jamie Rea.
