As BroadwayWorld previously reported, the musical adaptation of the hit animated film, Anastasia will play its final performance on Sunday, March 31, 2019 after two successful years on Broadway. In honor of the show's incredible two-year run, we're living in the land of yesterday and taking a look back at the show's Broadway opening night in April 2017.

Asolo Repertory Theatre will proudly present the world premiere of KNOXVILLE in spring 2020. This moving and innovative musical will feature lyrics by Lynn Ahrens, music by Stephen Flaherty and will be adapted and directed by Frank Galati, reuniting the dynamic Tony Award-winning creative team behind Ragtime, one of the most beloved musicals of all time. KNOXVILLE is based on James Agee's Pulitzer Prize-winning autobiographical novel A Death in the Family and based, in part, on the play All The Way Home by Tad Mosel.

Kicking off 2019 and this 25th Anniversary season, Tony and Grammy award-nominated Michael McElroy and BIV present a fully choreographed rendition of "Journey to the Past" from Anastasia.

As BroadwayWorld previously reported, the Tony Award winning Best Revival will close this Sunday, January 6, 2019. When it closes this production will have played 29 previews and 458 performances. Once On This Island opened on December 3 at Circle in the Square Theatre (235 West 50th Street) to rave reviews.

Anastasia's lost princess has found herself a real life prince. Christy Altomare announced on Instagram today that she is engaged to her longtime boyfriend Pete Browning. We're wishing congratulations and all the best to the happy couple!

The original Broadway production was directed by Frank Galati, who received a Tony nomination for his work and is an Associate Artist at Asolo Rep. A collaboration with Seattle's 5th Avenue Theatre, RAGTIME is currently on stage through May 27 in the Mertz Theatre, located in the FSU Center for the Performing Arts.
