Prime Video has revealed the premiere date and title sequence for the upcoming adult animated comedy series, Kevin from Aubrey Plaza, Joe Wengert, and Dan Murphy. All eight episodes will debut on the streamer on Monday, April 20, 2026.

Waters told me how he felt about being asked to turn one of his other hit films into a Broadway musical. 'I was thrilled because I had just had such a wonderful experience with Hairspray and to be honest, Cry Baby was the only real musical movie I ever made. Hairspray was a dance movie. The music in this is such a breath of new talent on Broadway.'

On this day in 2002, the big. beautiful Broadway hit musical, Hairspray opened at the Neil Simon Theater.

After their opening night was rained out on Friday, July 20th, the diverse and youthful cast of Hairspray at The Jenny Wiley Theatre, an outdoor amphitheatre in Prestonsburg, Kentucky--population 3,255 -- celebrated their work and art by transforming a local pizzeria into a piano bar and joyfully singing through a concert of the show for an enthusiastic local crowd. The second performance on Saturday, July 21st, made it to the end of Act 1... when another severe storm broke loose.

This Sunday, Logo is airing the original HAIRSPRAY movie as a part of their Cocktails & Classics series. During the breaks, host Michael Urie and guests, including the original Tracy Turnblad, Ricki Lake, will discuss the iconic film.
