Bay Street Theater and Sag Harbor Center for the Arts has announced the addition of playwright and producer Josh Wilder as Artistic Associate. Josh will originate this newly created position alongside Artistic Director Scott Schwartz and Associate Artistic Director Will Pomerantz, and newly added Literary Manager, Hope Villanueva, to develop Mainstage productions, new works, and special projects on behalf of Bay Street Theater.

Bay Street Theater & Sag Harbor Center for the Arts has announced the return of Lifelong Learning Series, a free, four-part, online seminar series sponsored by AARP Long Island. The series consists of monthly 60-minute seminars focusing on topics such as stage acting, playwriting, storytelling, and exercises in creative motivation.

The three productions will be: WINDFALL (May 26 - June 14), a new comedy by Scooter Pietsch, DANCING AT LUGHNASA (June 23 - July 19) by Brian Friel, and the musical RAGTIME (August 4 - September 6), with book by Terrence McNally, music by Stephen Flaherty and lyrics by Lynn Ahrens; based on the novel by E.L. Bay Street Theater is pleased to announce a fourth bonus show for the 2019 Mainstage Season entitled My Witch: The Stories of Margaret Hamilton (July 17-21). The show is a new play by John Ahlin which is about the life of Margaret Hamilton, who played the Wicked Witch of the West in The Wizard of Oz. Will Pomerantz, Bay Street's Associate Artistic Director, is directing the production. Will also directed the sellout smash Evita last summer at Bay Street Theater. Margaret Hamilton is portrayed by Jean Tafler (The Deadly Spawn and Una: A Dark Faerie Tale).

The Queens Theatre may cause a stir when it premieres Relic, or, I Was Bubbie's Favorite by Joel Feinman (as told to Lojo Simon), an outrageous new comedy by playwright Lojo Simon and directed by Will Pomerantz, that explores the cult of celebrity, religion and idolatry in modern times. The play, set in the Queens neighborhood of Rego Park, revolves around an out-of-work actor who finds what purports to be the world's greatest relic in his grandmother's attic, offering him the fame and fortune he always sought. He discovers, however, that it may not be all he wants! Performances will be held Friday, May 10th through Sunday, May 19th (Fridays, Saturdays, Sundays).
