The Al Hirschfeld Theatre was the place to be last night as Moulin Rouge! officially opened on Broadway. Directed by Alex Timbers (Tony Award®-nominated for Bloody Bloody Andrew Jackson and Peter and the Starcatcher) Moulin Rouge! The Musical has a book by John Logan (Tony Award® for Red), choreography by Sonya Tayeh (Lucille Lortel Award and Obie Award for Kung Fu, and Emmy winner), and music supervision, orchestrations and arrangements by Justin Levine (Bloody Bloody Andrew Jackson).

BWW Flashback: KISS ME, KATE Takes Final Broadway Bow Today!

As BroadwayWorld previously reported, Roundabout Theatre Company will conclude its critically acclaimed spring production of Kiss Me, Kate, directed by Scott Ellis, choreographed by Warren Carlyle with music direction by Paul Gemignani, after 30 preview performances and 125 regular performances. Before the cast takes their final bows, we're flashing back through its journey on Broadway!

Last night, The Jimmy Awards held their 11th annual ceremony at Broadway's Minskoff Theatre. The top awards went to Ethan Kelso and Ekele Ukegbu, for Best Performance by an Actor, and Actress, respectively. Kelso took home the prize for his performance as Will Bloom in Big Fish at Salt Lake School for the Performing Arts in Logan, Utah, while Ukegbu won for her performances as the title role of Aida at Elmont Memorial Junior-Senior High School in New York City.

Tonight's the night! The 11th annual Jimmy Awards ceremony will be presented tonight, June 24 at 7:30PM at Broadway's Minskoff Theatre. The six presenters will include Derek Klena(Jagged Little Pill), George Salazar (Be More Chill), Jimmy Awards alumni and current Broadway stars Andrew Barth Feldman (Dear Evan Hansen), RENEE RAPP (Mean Girls), Kyle Selig (Mean Girls), and Stephanie Styles (Kiss Me, Kate).

Richard Kind Will Join Cast of KISS ME KATE for Final Weeks

BroadwayWorld has just learned that Richard Kind will return to Roundabout's stage, following his Tony Award-nominated and Drama Desk Award-winning performance in The Big Knife, in Kiss Me, Kate. Kind will reprise the role of "Second Man," which he played in Roundabout's 2016 benefit concert reading of Kiss Me, Kate.
