Born in Venezuela and raised in Texas, Fabiola Caraballo Quijada is starring as Juliet in the National Tour of the hit Broadway musical, & JULIET. I had the chance to chat with the three-time Jimmy Award Nominee & Winner of the 2025 Jimmy Award for Best Performance by an Actress just prior to & JULIET landing in Montreal, where it will run at Salle Wilfred-Pelletier, Place des Arts, 175 Rue Sainte-Catherine O, Montréal, QC H2X 1Y9 from March 17 – March 22.

& JULIET will play Bass Concert Hall in Austin as part of the 2025–26 Broadway in Austin Season. Tickets go on sale February 20 at 10 a.m. The pop musical features songs by Max Martin and a book by David West Read.

THE NOTEBOOK will play Keller Auditorium in Portland from March 10–15, 2026. The Broadway musical features music and lyrics by Ingrid Michaelson and a book by Bekah Brunstetter.

&Juliet is a 2019 jukebox musical, featuring a book by David West Read and music by Max Martin, a Swedish Pop songwriter. On the surface, its story is fairly simple when laid out, but the adventures of its characters and how they traverse the narrative is whatreally get to the heart of the story.

Broadway In Chicago has announced that individual tickets for & Juliet will go on sale tomorrow, Friday, February 13, for the two-week limited engagement (July 22–August 2), at The Auditorium (50 E. Ida B. Wells Drive).

THE NOTEBOOK, a new musical adaptation of the beloved novel and film, will grace the stage at The Paramount Theatre in Seattle from March 3-8, as part of the 25-26 Broadway series.

The new Canadian production of & Juliet will extend performances at the Royal Alexandra Theatre. In addition, & Juliet will hold a special sing-along performance this spring.

It is no wonder so many movies, tv shows, and musicals start out as the written word. I would argue the best stories are those that draw you in and keep you engaged from start to finish, regardless of how long it takes to finish. Perhaps that is why when I first read The Notebook by Nicholas Sparks in high school, I read it in one day. Reading the book so long ago led me to watch the movie with equal enthusiasm which leads me now to the performance hall of DCPA's Buell Theatre for the National Touring production of this new classic.

Stories can be one of the most powerful things in the world. We all have different reasons we share a story.  Sometimes it's to pass down a lesson we have learned.  Other times it's to remind us or someone we know about our story. 'The Notebook: The Musical,' which opened on Tuesday at Des Moines Performing Arts as part of the Willis Broadway Series, not only tells a beautiful story, but the way it is told is something I'm going to remember for a long time.

Tickets for the Milwaukee premiere of & Juliet at The Marcus Performing Arts Center ​​​​​​​will go on sale for its one-week limited run.

The costumes are vibrant, the choreography is exhilirating, the voices are powerful, and the story... there is quite the twist in the story.
