Boston-born Apollo Dukakis most important lifelong role has been as the adoring brother of his sister, Academy-Award winning actress Olympia Dukakis, who left us in 2021. To honor her memory, Odyssey Theatre Ensemble is presenting OK, OLYMPIA, LET’S GO!, a multi-media celebration of her life that includes YOU AND ME, a one-act play written by Apollo.

Tony-nominated composer Lindsay Jones and award-winning playwright Todd Logan will host a special live listening event for their new podcast musical, Botanic Garden the Musical at the Dolby Theatre.

Odyssey Theatre Ensemble will honor Academy Award winner Olympia Dukakis with OK, OLYMPIA, LET’S GO! on March 21 and 22 in Los Angeles. The tribute features a performance of You and Me by Apollo Dukakis and Kandis Chappell.

Due to scheduling conflicts, I was able to avail myself of only a small sampling of the W71 events during the first weekend of programming. We attended a performance of MANY HAPPY RETURNS at 11am and Tennessee Williams’ CAMINO REAL at 2pm. We had time between to enjoy lunch and a bit of shopping on Spring Street. The performances were very well done, a bit non-traditional, and without a doubt up to the long standing and well-established standards / expectations associated with the WTF. Bravo to all involved in the resurrection of this Phoenix from the Ashes. Although, admittedly once skeptical (I am a former New Yorker) I am happy to highly recommend immersion in the newly re-imagined Williamstown Theatre Festival. You will have to move quickly though as W71 runs only through August 3. That said, I am already looking forward to what W72 will bring us in the Summer of 2026.

In July, Significant Productions will present Suite Surrender, Written by Michael McKeever, as the second 2025 summer production at The Studio Theatre Tierra del Sol.

Awards were presented tonight in 37 categories including outstanding actors, directors, designers, choreographers, musicians, productions and 4 visiting productions by the Boston Theater Critics Association (BTCA) at the 41st Annual Elliot Norton Awards ceremony, held at the Huntington Theatre in Boston.  

 The world premiere of Extreme Acts by award-winning playwright Lynne Kaufman, which was originally announced as a two-play production at The Marsh San Francisco has now been updated to a 60-minute standalone performance.
