BLAST will present Mart Crowley's THE BOYS IN THE BAND at Cider Mill Stage, opening February 27. The play, set in 1968 NYC, delves into the complexities of friendship and identity among a group of gay men during a tumultuous birthday party.

Plays of Wilton (POW!), in collaboration with the City of Wilton Manors, Florida, has announced the final production of its 2025 POW! In The Park series: Mart Crowley's play, 'The Boys in the Band.'

In his Upper East Side apartment, Michael is throwing a birthday party for Harold, a self-avowed 'thirty-two-year-old, pockmarked, Jew fairy,' complete with surprise gift: 'Cowboy,' a street hustler. As the evening wears on – fueled by drugs and alcohol – bitter, unresolved resentments among the guests come to light when a game of 'Truth' goes terribly wrong.

Casting has been revealed for the upcoming production of TARZAN in Australia. This new Australian staging of TARZAN, is based on the hit Disney animated film, with iconic  music & lyrics by Phil Collins.

This play did the most powerful thing that a play can do. It showed us a picture of the truth. The joyous, horrific, wondrous, terrifying, painful truth.

I was so excited to interview Jimmy Moore, the Producing Artistic Director of the San Pedro Playhouse. He and his team specifically scheduled The Boys in the Band to coincide with pride month to celebrate the experiences of the gay community, and he was excited to let me know that the show  is about to become an official pride month event in San Antonio!

What did our critic think of THE NEW CENTURY at The Bent?

After 53 years, a new production of the important LGBTQIA+ play The Boys in the Band opens in Sao Paulo, at Teatro Procopio Ferreira. Directed by Ricardo Grasson, the play stars Bruno Narchi, Caio Evangelista, Caio Paduan, Heber Gutierrez, Heitor Garcia, Julio Oliveira, Leonardo Miggiorin, Mateus Ribeiro, Tiago Barbosa and Otavio Martins.

What did our critic think of THE BOYS IN THE BAND at The Bent?I went into this production by The Bent with some provenance. Back in the 20 teens I had the privilege of interviewing Larry Luckinbill on the 50th anniversary of Boys in the Band which was also the same year the remake came out. I watched the film. I read all about when the stage play came out in the 1960s, which is a powerful story in and of itself. I read about the playwright Mart Crowley, that there were two straight guys in the original production, and almost all of the other actors succumbed to AIDS.

Riley Elton McCarthy's THE LESBIAN PLAY is set to play a limited engagement at The Triad Theater beginning June 9th. After a previous industry workshop at ART/NY in November, the production announces their full company and continued direction by Colleen Morgen.
