Scenes for Survival, the ongoing digital project created by the National Theatre of Scotland, continues to entertain audiences with new weekly releases across BBC and National Theatre of Scotland online platforms.

Stars of Cabaret in Words and Song is a 90-minute online special presented by NATS last week, and on Friday it receives an encore presentation on the Youtube channel Richard Skipper Celebrates, for the release of the book SO YOU WANT TO SING CABARET.

Singer/Actress Marissa Mulder moved to New York City in 2007 from Syracuse, NY and has gone on to become one of the most successful young cabaret artists on the Manhattan scene. In 2011, she beat out 60 other singers to win the Metro Star Challenge at the Metropolitan Room, an American Idol type contest for up and coming cabaret artists. Since then she has performed in several of her own shows. Stephen Holden of the New York Times called her show ' Tom...In His Words, the songs of Tom Waits', 'Far and away the season's best show, everything the genre can be but almost never is.'

At Birdland Jazz Club, catch the iconic Lionel Hampton Big Band Featuring Jason Marsalis, current GRAMMY nominee Catherine Russell, the Birdland debut of AGUAS Trio with Omar Sosa, Yilian Cañizares and Gustavo Ovalles, and iconic vocalist Jane Monheit. Internationally recognized trumpeter Rachel Therrien, the Seth Weaver Big Band, and The Voice contestant Melinda Rose Rodriguez will also be performing upstairs. 

Everything old is new again….. that's if you happen to sing like Marissa Mulder and have Jon Weber at the piano to envelop your dulcet voice with inspired accompaniments.
