Closer Than Ever, the award winning show by lyricist Richard Malty, Jr. and composer David Shire, has been creatively filmed for streaming by a group of theatre professionals at the MNM Theatre Company.  

MNM Theatre Company, like almost every theatre company around the world, has been drastically affected by COVID-19. All scheduled productions have either been cancelled or postponed indefinitely, with no re-start date in sight.

However, the company's Producing Artistic Director and CEO Marcie Gorman and Director Jonathan Van Dyke have come up with an innovative way to provide audiences with theatre, and the company's first production Maltby and Shire's Closer Than Ever will debut on November 27th and be available for On Demand streaming through December 31st.

The cast and crew of A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum are deep into rehearsals and preparation for the show's November 23rd opening.  Forum, an MNM Theatre Company co-presentation with the Kravis Center, will run in the venue's Rinker Playhouse through December 8th.

Off Broadway enthusiasts are increasingly adding the tag South Broadway to denote the fact that first rate productions are being mounted by creative and savvy theater owners in their audience friendly state of the art venues in South Florida. The Wick Theatre In Boca Raton is one of the newest and most glamorous. I was recently there for the dress rehearsal of the season opener Hot Shoe Shuffle. The Wick audience is in for a fabulous evening of song and dance with an unbelievable display of talent on it's stage. Bravo to Producer Marilyn Wick, Director Jonathan Van Dyke, Choreographer Justin M. Lewis, Jason Tucker musical director and a very talented cast. The show runs October 17- November 10. Are you ready to 'cut a rug'? The Wick Theatre opens their seventh season with the Australian and West End smash hit, Hot Shoe Shuffle. This award-winning production features a cast of dynamic dancers tapping and singing their way through the biggest hits from the American Big Band era performed by a 10-piece live band.

Jay Van Vechten, retired NYC PR man and Chairman of the American Disabilities Foundation, Inc. celebrated his 75th birthday last night as only a former President of one of the top three PR networks in the world could. He put on a superlative Cabaret Show! It took place at the beautiful state of the art Wick Theatre in Boca Raton. The evening was headlined by Country Music royalty Nashvilles's Kellye Cash a former Miss America and niece of Johnny Cash. The exciting evening was directed by Jay Van Dyke. It's probably in the genes, Kellye Cash is a first rate country singer with a captivating personality, one of those type of performers that an audience instantly falls in love with.

Due to overwhelming demand, LAGUNA PLAYHOUSE is EXTENDING the first show of its 99th season, the perfect romantic comedy to kick off the Summer, ABBA's intoxicating MAMMA MIA!, music and lyrics by Benny Andersson and Bjorn Ulvaeus and some songs with Stig Anderson, book by Catherine Johnson, originally conceived by Judy Craymer with musical direction by Ricky Pope and directed & choreographed by Karen Babcock Brassea. It's tons of fun and enchanting, despite some weaknesses with the show's new book.

Playing through December 25 at Show Palace Dinner Theatre, in Holiday Incorporated, it doesn't matter what you celebrate, multitalented actor, director and playwright Jonathan Van Dyke has you covered in a musical tale about an elf named Ivy who's lost her love for the holidays and the five magical board members who help her find her way back to believing.

And as a farewell to the old farm, they're running that paean to the Catskills, 'Breaking Up Is Hard To Do'. And of course it's all about love, this revue of Neil Sedaka's 18 finest, set at Esther's Paradise Resort.

Stage Door Theatre's final production in their long-time venue on Sample Road, Breaking Up Is Hard to Do, will open in Theatre 1 on July 6thand run through August 12th. SPRING AT THE WILLOWBROOK INN, a new play by Jonathan Van Dyke, will be featured at the Tampa International Fringe Festival at the HCC Studio Theatre in Tampa, FL. May 3 - 6, 2018, starring Wesley Eure (TV's Land of the Lost, Days of Our Lives, Dragon Tales), George Dvorsky (Broadway's Scarlett Pimpernel, Passion, and Madam Secretary), Justin Lore (Forbidden Broadway, Disney's Finding Nemo), and Jacob Thompson (The Perfect Murder). Directed by Jonathan Van Dyke, SPRING AT THE WILLOWBROOK INN was awarded Outstanding Production and Outstanding Lead Actor in a Play at the All Out Arts: Fresh Fruit Festival in NYC.

The Wick Theatre proudly presents Disney's Beauty and the Beast. Based on the 1991 Academy Award-winning animated feature film, the musical features music by Alan Menken, Howard Ashman and Tim Rice, and book by Linda Wolverton. The stage version of Beauty and the Beast includes memorable new songs in addition to familiar ones from the animated version such as "Be Our Guest", "Gaston", and the title song "Beauty and the Beast".

The tale as old as time, Disney's Beauty and The Beast, comes to The Wick Theatre this summer.  The smash hit Broadway musical is based on the Academy Award-winning animated film and features music by Alan Menken with lyrics by Tim Rice and Howard Ashman. To add to the enchantment of this summer production, Marilynn Wick has created special pre-performance events including Story Time with Belle, Tea Time with Mrs. Potts and Lumiere's Candlelight Dinner.
