South Coast Repertory will share with Orange County audiences the 44th production of the Charles Dickens classic, A Christmas Carol, adapted by Jerry Patch, and directed by Hisa Takakuwa.

While the play-with-music has its fair share of interesting and even poignant moments, SCR's overall production feels surprisingly low-stakes, and only really becomes much more lively when it reaches its celebratory music-filled finalé. With its stories delivered via monologues, it becomes difficult to really be connected to the play's characters.

South Coast Repertory  returns for a third summer to the historic Mission San Juan Capistrano with the Outside SCR production of La Havana Madrid by Sandra Delgado.

On Veterans’ Day - November 11 - at 7pm, New Musicals Inc is hosting a special online concert to help celebrate the day and pay respect to veterans around the world. Jamie Wilson and Gavin Kalin have announced casting for the UK premiere of ON YOUR FEET! - THE STORY OF EMILIO AND GLORIA ESTEFAN, which will play at Wolverhampton Grand Theatre from Tuesday 17 Saturday 21 March 2020.

Sombreros off to the theatre companies that are emphasizing cultural diversity and inclusiveness in their programming and casting and creatively outreaching to new audiences. One of the leaders in the mix, thanks to the artistic directorship of David Ivers (who's off now to take the helm at South Coast Repertory), is Arizona Theatre Company, which has mounted AMERICAN MARIACHI as one of its 52nd Season highlights. The light-hearted and sentimental production, directed by Christopher Acebo, runs through April 21st at the Herberger Theater Center in Phoenix.

Casting has been announced for the UK premiere of ON YOUR FEET! The Story of Emilio and Gloria Estefan, which will play a limited season at the London Coliseum from Friday 14 June Saturday 31 August 2019. Prior to the London run there will be seven performances at Curve, Leicester from 3 8 June 2019.
