This is my first cabaret review for 2010, not counting the finale for LA's Next Great Stage Star 2010 held at Sterling's Upstairs @ Vitello's earlier this month on January 3. I must admit, I have yet to be disappointed @ Sterling's with the service or with the cabaret artist being showcased. Proving no exception, An Evening with Judy Norton on Sunday, January 31 was a stellar show with a true night club star.
Eduardo Enrikez is a talented actor and producer whose company Canary Productions is currently producing Cabaret @ The Met. Enrikez is playing The Emcee, following an acclaimed performance last fall in Blood Brothers @ the Whitefire Theatre in Sherman Oaks. With British musical theatre training under his belt, Enrikez discusses theatre here and across the Pond.
Producer Laura Coker has announced an added performance for Blood Brothers, the Olivier Award-winning, Tony-nominated musical drama by Willy Russell on Sunday, November 23 at 8 pm.
A multi-ethnic cast highlights stinging themes of class and poverty when Whitefire artistic director Bryan Rasmussen directs Blood Brothers, the Olivier Award-winning, Tony-nominated musical drama by Willy Russell (Educating Rita, Shirley Valentine). The tragic musical tale opens at the Whitefire Theatre in Sherman Oaks on October 18 for a six-week run through November 23.
