For 20 years Alpine Theatre Project has brought artists direct from Broadway to Whitefish to perform and teach.

Today, after two decades of unwavering dedication, 143 productions, 1,000 professional artists, 180,000 patrons, 3,000 students, and over $30 Million in generated economic impact, ATP announces a pivotal moment in its history. ATP's Founders Betsi Morrison & Luke Walrath are handing off leadership of the organization.

Mean Girls the Musical is the latest offering from ATP Kids. Forty six high school students from all over the Flathead Valley have been working together to present the hilarious musical based on the hit movie.

They've starred in some of the most well-known Broadway productions in history, including “Rent,” “Anything Goes,” “The Lion King,” “Color Purple,” and for one week they'll perform some of their greatest showstopping hits on the Whitefish stage. Alpine Theatre Project's Broadway Concert Series runs July 30 - August 2 at the Whitefish Performing Arts Center.

Fifty five high school students from all over the Flathead Valley have been working together to present what is widely considered Broadway's most famous and most epic musical, Les Miserables, running April 27-30 at the Whitefish Performing Arts Center. This production is part of the ATP Kids Educational Outreach Program.

These appointments increase the Board of Directors to 14 and bring a wealth of diverse experiences and skills that will assist ATP in expansion goals and initiatives to continue to bring world class entertainment and education to the region.

Broadway and Opera star N'Kenge is in Whitefish rehearsing with Alpine Theatre Project on their first show of the year, In the Mood: an Evening of Big Band Swing. N'Kenge returns to Whitefish along with one of America's most electrifying tap dancers, DeWitt Fleming Jr, for a new version of last year's hit salute to nostalgic big band music.

One of the most popular animated shows of all time - SpongeBob Squarepants - gets the full Broadway musical treatment October 22 & 23 at the Whitefish Performing Arts Center. Alpine Theatre Project presents The SpongeBob Musical, featuring 110 students in Grades 1-8 from across the Valley.

Alpine Theatre Project ends its busy summer season with a 2-performance of “Here Comes the Sun,” a celebration of the music of The Beatles.

Dolly Parton. Patsy Cline. Tammy Wynette. Loretta Lynn. Reba McIntyre.  The music of these “Queens of Country” along with some of their contemporary counterparts will be performed by four powerhouse women and an all-star band.

Alpine Theatre Project is bringing back one of the most generation-defining musicals of the modern era - the Pulitzer Prize winning RENT - after 11 years. The special “school edition” of the musical also marks the return of its ATP Kids high school program back to the Whitefish Performing Arts Center after 2 years.

ATP describes “Love Heals” as a poignant and inspiring celebration of our individual differences, our collective humanity, and the voices we can share to improve the world as we continue to try and come out on the other side of a tumultuous year. It is being held in conjunction with ATP's Broadway Summer Training Camp, where 11 Broadway professionals mentor local students.

Alpine Theatre Project will return to the Whitefish Performing Arts Center for the first time in 18 months when it presents the ATP Kids production of Disney's Descendants June 25-27. This production features 94 students in Grades 3-12 from across the Flathead Valley.

The popular musical from the 70's is being staged in the round on a circular stage and incorporates everything from swings and trampolines to a live shower on stage.

ATP continues to keep busy creating innovative programs and performances despite the challenges COVID has thrown at the professional theatre company since March, 2020.

Alpine Theatre Project is continuing its trend of providing innovative performances with the creation of a new artist commission series entitled “The Artist Challenge” and will begin with an intimate look at the creation of a new pop album on April 23 & 24 at ATP’s new headquarters in the old Mountain Cinemas in Whitefish. 

Alpine Theatre Project in Whitefish will present Next to Normal, its first production in its new space. The special film presentation of the musical will be presented at Alpine Theatre Project’s new home at the Mountain Center in Whitefish.

The students of Alpine Theatre Project Performers from Flathead, Glacier, Whitefish, and Columbia Falls High Schools worked together to put on a virtual production of YOUNG FRANKENSTEIN, previously set to take place at Whitefish Performing Arts Center.

With theatre performances worldwide being cancelled, Alpine Theatre Project decided to radically alter its high school student production of the Mel Brooks musical, a?oeYoung Frankenstein,a?? opting to adapt its slated live production for video.
