Vistas Media Capital, which recently launched its North American division, today announced that it is developing and producing a feature documentary about Laura Nyro, the gifted and influential singer/songwriter that burst on the scene in the late 1960s while still a teenager, and who effectively rejected the demands of superstardom in her 20s and pursued a life of activism for women's rights and the environment.

Each year The Theatre World Awards presents 12 awards to outstanding debut performances on and off-Broadway. This year's honorees have just been announced and we've got the full list.

This evening will feature a cast of 10 current students: Jay Mauro, Tiera Summers, Jeremy Brown, Amber Cresser, Amanda Flores, Michele Sivori, Joshua Credle, Lea Gaymon, Sierra Shepherd, and Paul Schiller. 

The Pulmonary Fibrosis Foundation’s 12th annual Broadway Belts for PFF! raised a record $475,000 in a new hybrid format on April 29. The sold-out gala at New York City’s Edison Ballroom, live streamed for the first time, is the single largest fundraiser in the Foundation’s history.

Director Roberta Emerson has devised an intriguing way to approach the story's outer framework without altering the libretto. The story opens not with an unseen narrator recounting the enchantress's spell on a prideful prince and his servants but instead with a young Black girl (played sweetly by Gabriella Milchman) who opens a storybook in a modern-day bedroom and reads those words aloud from it, soon seeing herself in the story - just in time for the glorious opening notes of 'Belle'...

Laura Benanti and Robert Sean Leonard have joined the second season of The Gilded Age as recurring characters.
