On December 6, there was a celebration of The American Theatre As Seen By Hirschfeld, the title of both the new book and the inaugural exhibition at The Museum of Broadway. The Al Hirschfeld foundation hosted a cocktail reception celebrating the new book at The Algonquin before offering a private tour of the new exhibition at the museum. Check out photos here!

LIVE throughout July, featuring The Great Yiddish Theatre Quiz (Vos-Ver-Vu) on July 7; an interview with theatre historian (and former President of The Al Hirschfeld Foundation) Louise Kerz Hirschfeld by Budd Mishkin on July 15; Maida Feingold Living Room Concert on July 22; and Rachel Policar's Lullabies and Love Songs from my Living Room on July 29.

The 2015-16 premiere of THEATER TALK, now in its 24th year, focuses on a campy Off-Broadway hit, DROP DEAD PERFECT, with its star Everett Quinton and director Joe Brancato, plus the ambitious exhibition, THE HIRSCHFELD CENTURY, celebrating THE ART OF the late caricaturist Al Hirschfeld, with Hirschfeld's widow Louise Kerz Hirschfeld and the exhibition's curator and author of its companion book, David Leopold.

Al Hirschfeld immortalized celebrities, politicians, Broadway productions, films, television shows and beyond with his iconic linear drawings for nine decades, establishing himself as one of the most important contemporary portrait artists. Over a decade since the legendary artist drew his final line drawing, he continues to inspire. This spring and summer, Hirschfeld is being celebrated with the publication of a new book and a major exhibition at the New-York Historical Society.

Westport Country Playhouse hosted 'Hirschfeld at the Playhouse,' a one-night-only celebration of the artistry of Al Hirschfeld last night, June 29, with an exhibition of his works and a screening of the documentary about his life and career, 'The Line King: The Al Hirschfeld Story.' The 1996 Academy Award-nominated film, directed and written by Susan W. Dryfoos, was produced by Times History Productions, a division of The New York Times Company.
