Review: & JULIET Sparkles at Edmonton's Northern Alberta Jubilee Auditorium
by Sarah Dussome - Sep 24, 2026
In 1590s London, William Shakespeare is just hours from debuting his latest masterpiece: Romeo & Juliet. However, his wife, Anne, is less than pleased with the tragic tale’s ending. & Juliet offers a contemporary reimagining of Shakespeare’s classic tragedy, asking what might happen if Juliet chose a different path after Romeo’s death. Written by comedy genius David West Read (Schitt’s Creek), the musical blends Shakespearean characters with modern tastes and twists, exploring themes of self-discovery, independence, and second chances.
