Willie Williams

Willie Williams designs and directs live events with an emphasis on multimedia performance. He is best known for his 40-year creative relationship with rock band U2 which was instrumental in introducing large-scale, multiscreen imagery to concert touring. His work with George Michael, David Bowie and R.E.M. has also been highly respected as both conceptually and technologically ground breaking.
Performing arts projects include collaborations with Complicite, Kronos Quartet, La La La Human Steps and Laurie Anderson. Theatre credits include lighting and video design for Dawn French, French & Saunders, Little Britain Live, Barbarella at Vienna’s Raimund Theatre and the Queen musical We Will Rock You.
Public works include lighting installations within Canterbury Cathedral, on London’s
Southbank and a permanent exhibit at Cleveland’s Rock & Roll Hall of Fame Museum.
He is a founding partner of Treatment Studio, London, an award-winning design agencyspecialising in the creation of multimedia experiences for concert tours, festivals, art installations, experiential spaces, branding campaigns and theatrical productions. Clients include Louis Vuitton, McLaren, UNICEF, UEFA, Sigur Ròs, The Weeknd, John Mayer, Adele and The Rolling Stones.
