Sami Horneff Biography

A born and raised New Yorker, Sami is a proud graduate of Brown University and an advanced lyricist/librettist in the BMI Lehman Engel Musical Theatre Workshop. In 2019, she was named one of The York Theatre Company’s New/Emerging/Outstanding (NEO) writers with Amanda D’Archangelis. Recent credits include ArtsPower National Touring Theatre’s JUDY MOODY & STINK (Lyrics) based on the bestselling book series by Megan McDonald; COMING ATTRACTION (Lyrics), a new musical about the life of Hollywood icon Greta Garbo, which premiered as a staged reading at the Wilbury Theatre Group in Providence, RI and will be presented as a staged reading at the York Theatre; SINGLE RIDER (Lyrics & Book, Off-Broadway); THE RADIUM GIRLS: A JAW DROPPING NEW MUSICAL (Lyrics & Book, Western Connecticut State University’s New Works - New Voices Festival, Selection for the Kennedy Center American College Theater Festival 53, Winner at The Players Theatre BOO! How cool would it be to have a composer write a song personally tailored to you? Cabaret performers live for those tunes that tap into their truest essence and express exactly who they are as an entertainer. That is the premise and the purpose of MUSE MATCH, a concert of new works benefiting The Musical Theatre Factory. The founder of the event, Bill Coyne described it as a “musical theatre blind date.” Cabaret artists are matched up with a composer or composing team. They answer a series of in-depth questions about what believe in and what’s important to them as people, and voila! a custom-made song.
