Matthew Beard

Matthew was recently seen in the second season of FUNNY WOMAN (Sky) following a critically acclaimed run on stage at Soho Theatre in BOYS ON THE VERGE OF TEARS. He will next be seen in THE WOMAN CLOTHED BY THE SUN opposite Amanda Seyfried.

Other television credits include Scott Frank’s MONSIEUR SPADE (AMC) opposite Clive Owen, Armando Ianucci’s AVENUE FIVE (HBO), the lead in historical drama VIENNA BLOOD (BBC), Stephen Moffat’s DRACULA (BBC/Netflix) and Anthony Horowitz’s MAGPIE MURDERS (Britbox). Matthew’s performance in AND WHEN DID YOU LAST SEE YOUR FATHER? gained him nominations for both a British Independent Film Award and an Evening Standard British Film Award. Matthew’s other film credits include THE IMITATION GAME, AN EDUCATION, JOHNNY ENGLISH STRIKES AGAIN and the lead opposite Karen Gillan in her debut film THE PARTY’S JUST BEGINNING.

On stage, Matthew received a Tony nomination for his performance in SKYLIGHT, directed by Stephen Daldry. He played Edmund in the West End in the Young Vic’s critically acclaimed production of LONG DAY’S JOURNEY INTO NIGHT opposite Jeremy Irons and Lesley Manville, which was followed by sell out runs in New York and Los Angeles.
