Trinity Repertory Company's 12th annual playwriting competition for New England high school students, Write Here! Write Now! announces its four winning plays: The Dragon's Crown by William Derby (Jacqueline M. Walsh School for the Arts, Pawtucket), Busy People by Seoyon Kim (The Wheeler School, Providence), The Sudden Plunge of a Great Creature by Wesley Memery (La Salle Academy, Cranston), and Plants Don't Count as Friends by Eisley Morgan (Classical High School, Providence).

Lifeline Theatre welcomes Paige Keedy as Production Manager, Nathan Crawford as Operations Manager/Accessibility Coordinator, and Merissa Stewart as Education Director, beginning in Summer 2022. Reporting to Artistic Director Ilesa Duncan and working in partnership with the Operations Manager, Keedy will be responsible for managing the overall production of all of Lifeline's programming.
Lifeline Theatre announced their 2022-23 season of Big Stories, Up Close. It’s a monumental year of unforgettable stories brought to life, from beloved classics to modern titles. The 2022-23 MainStage season features the Midwest premiere sequel Miss Holmes Returns, followed by a retelling of Dr. Endesha Ida Mae Holland’s From the Mississippi Delta.
Sherlock Holmes is one of literature’s most well-known characters. Through the years, many people have tried to adapt Holmes to different time periods and situations. But none that I have come across have done so as successfully as Christopher M. Walsh does in MISS HOLMES RETURNS, now playing at the Greater Boston Stage Company through May 8th.
Greater Boston Stage Company will present Miss Holmes Returns directed by Weylin Symes, a theatrical “fan fiction” that expands on the feminist themes of Miss Holmes, using the characters, settings, and tropes created by Sir Arthur Conan Doyle.

Lifeline Theatre welcomes Amelia Ablan to her new staff position as Production Manager, beginning June 2021. Reporting directly to Artistic Director Ilesa Duncan and Managing Director Allison Cain, Ablan will be responsible for overseeing the production processes for the company, collaborating closely with directors and the Artistic Director to fulfill the production needs for Lifeline's future live and digital programming. Ablan succeeds Jennifer McClendon, who served as Production Manager since 2016, now heading to Providence, Rhode Island to Trinity Repertory Company as their new Producing Director.
Greater Boston Stage Company will return to the stage this year with Season 22. The 2021 – 2022 Season will include a World Premiere, a New England Premiere, a comic adaptation of a classic thriller, an a cappella holiday musical, and something so special it's TBA!
The Waterville Opera House (WOH) will present a mystery that shines a new light on favorite characters when Miss Holmes opens this January in Waterville. Inspired by the works of Sir Arthur Conan Doyle, it's not just another mystery - it's a reexamination of the Victorian world of Holmes and Watson that explores the added obstacles that these two iconic characters would have faced if they had been women.
The Factory Theater presents the continuation of last year's holiday special, Xmas War, with Xmas War: ENDGAME, December 13 - 21 at Factory Theater, 1623 W. Howard St. Factory Theater's holiday production is a double feature with the company performing last year's show and then continuing the story with this year's sequel. The production runs for two weekends only, Friday, Dec. 13 and 20 and Saturday, Dec. 14 and 21, at 8 p.m. Xmas War: ENDGAME is directed by Matt Engle and written by Scott OKen. Peninsula Players Theatre, America's oldest professional resident summer theater and Door County's theatrical icon, is excited to announce the opening of 'Silent Sky' by Lauren Gunderson. 'Silent Sky' tells the story of unsung astronomer Henrietta Swan Leavitt, whose discoveries at Harvard Observatory in the 1890s opened the galaxies above. 'Silent Sky' performs August 21 through September 1.

The 18th annual Tribeca Film Festival, presented by AT&T, today announced its 2019 lineup of 63 diverse and engaging short films in competition, including 31 world premieres. This year's shorts program includes a cross-section of international and U.S. filmmakers, curated from a record 5131 submissions with female filmmakers directing 45% of the selections. The short films will be presented in 11 distinct competition programs, consisting of six narrative, four documentary, and one animation program. There will also be special screening programs for the annual Tribeca/ESPN Sports Film Festival and the debut of shorts from The Queen Collective, a program aimed at accelerating gender and racial equality behind the camera. The 2019 shorts lineup is programmed by Sharon Badal and Ben Thompson. The 2019 Tribeca Film Festival takes place April 24 - May 5.
Cincinnati Shakespeare Company (CSC) announced the titles for its 2019-2020 Season at The Otto M. Budig Theater in an event on March 6. This season will feature Women, on stage and off, in The Season of the Woman. CSC's 2018-2019 Season is generously sponsored by The Otto M. Budig Family Foundation, The Carol Ann and Ralph V. Haile Jr. Foundation, The Shubert Foundation, Ohio Arts Council, and ArtsWave and all productions will feature Cincinnati Shakespeare Company's Resident Company of Actors.

Peninsula Players Theatre is pleased to announce it was awarded a grant from the Wisconsin Arts Board (WAB) through their Creation & Presentation program. Funds from the grant will support the Peninsula Players continued development and presentation of outstanding theatrical productions and community programs as the theater prepares for its 84th season in 2019.
