BIO

KAYLA GREENSPAN is a theatrical producer with 15 years experience focusing primarily on commercial productions on Broadway. Kayla served as Managing Producer at TBD Theatricals (2020-2025) where she produced the Broadway productions of Maybe Happy Ending (Tony Award, Drama Desk Award, Drama League Award, Outer Critics Circle Award, New York Drama Critics’ Circle Award), The Heart of Rock and Roll, Purlie Victorious: A Non-Confederate Romp Through the Cotton Patch (Tony Nomination), Once Upon a One More Time, A Christmas Carol (starring Jefferson Mays), The Kite Runner, The Little Prince, Chicken & Biscuits, and Slava’s Snowshow. While Associate Producer at TBD Theatricals (2016-2020), she supported the producing team of Hadestown (Tony Award and Drama League Award), Little Shop of Horrors (Drama Desk Award and Drama League Award), The Inheritance (Tony Award, Drama Desk Award and Drama League Award), Frankie and Johnny in the Clair de Lune (Tony Nomination), Gettin’ the Band Back Together, Once On This Island (Tony Award) and Anastasia. During that time she produced dozens of readings, workshops and developmental productions of shows including The Preacher’s Wife (Alliance Theatre), Row (Williamstown Theatre Festival), Unknown Soldier (Playwrights Horizons) and Whisper House (59E59).


Prior to her time at TBD Theatricals, she was Managing Director of the Davenport Theatre and Davenport Theatrical’s Associate Producer where she worked on Deaf West Theatre’s Spring Awakening, Daddy Long Legs, Claudio Quest (NYMF), Macbeth (starring Alan Cumming) and Godspell. In 2015, Kayla line produced and oversaw marketing efforts for the very first Broadway or Off-Broadway musical to livestream a production. The livestream of Daddy Long Legs was viewed by 150,055 people in 135 different countries around the world and trended nationally on Twitter (even overtaking the Golden Globes).

In addition, she has been a Co-Producer on Cabaret (Tony Nomination), Bob Fosse’s Dancin’, Pictures From Home, Ohio State Murders, KPOP and A Strange Loop (Tony Award and Drama League Award) as well as raising money for Moulin Rouge (Broadway, West End, Australia, North America Tour, Germany and International Tour), Mrs Doubtfire, Thoughts of a Colored Man, The Notebook, Back to the Future, The Visit and It’s Only a Play. Kayla also served as Director of Investor Relations for the Broadway Strategic Return Fund.

Additional Executive Producer credits include the filmed version of A Christmas Carol starring Jefferson Mays, a filmed version of a new musical Beau (IndieFest Best of Fest and Humanitarian Awards, Dances with Films Industry Choice Best of Show Award) and the cast album of The Heart of Rock and Roll.

Kayla co-founded the Underrepresented Producer Initiative (UpLift), an education and training program aimed at breaking down barriers for aspiring producers from demographics typically not represented on the management side of theatre. Over 2 years time, she worked with 50+ participants which resulted in guiding 12 producers to make their Broadway or West End debut. She also prioritized supporting the next generation of theater creators as a mentor for the NYU Tisch Drama Women’s Mentorship Program. For 5 years, she was a judge for SHENYC – a festival dedicated to supporting the creation of new works by female writers and composers. Kayla produced benefit concerts for GLAAD and The Trevor Project.

Additional experience includes Director of Operations and Director of Marketing at On the Stage (formerly ARTech Holdings), Assistant Rehearsal Studio Manager, Assistant Street Team Manager, Online Marketing Assistant, Substitute Company Manager and Event Coordinator planning Opening Night and Tony Award parties.

Kayla earned her bachelor’s degree from NYU in Secondary Education with a concentration in English (Steinhardt School of Culture, Education, and Human Development) and in The Business of Entertainment, Media and Technology (Stern School of Business and Tisch School of the Arts).
