Jack Magaw Biography
JACK MAGAW is a professional Scenic Designer and also teaches at The Theatre School at DePaul University in Chicago. He received a Bachelor of Arts in Theatre Arts and English Literature from Vanderbilt University in 1985 and a Master of Fine Arts in Scenic Design from Northwestern University in 1991. To date he has designed more than 300 professional theatrical productions in the United States and abroad for Off-Broadway, Chicago and regional theatres such as Arena Stage, Lincoln Center Theatre, The Goodman Theatre, Barrington Stage, Chicago Opera Theatre, La Jolla Playhouse, Pittsburgh Public Theatre, Cincinnati Playhouse in the Park, Alliance Theatre, Kansas City Repertory Theatre, Indiana Repertory Theatre, Court Theatre, Steppenwolf Theatre, Geva Theatre, Milwaukee Repertory Theatre, Writers' Theatre, Northlight Theatre, Utah Shakespeare Festival and the Galway Theatre Festival among many others. Mr. Magaw’s work in Chicago has been recognized many times by the Joseph Jefferson Award Committee. In his 28 year teaching career, he has taught all areas of design and technology at both the undergraduate and graduate levels. He resides in Chicago.Jack Magaw News
