Apple TV+ has unveiled the trailer for the second season of “The Big Door Prize,” the critically acclaimed and character-driven comedy from Emmy Award-winning creator David West Read (“Schitt’s Creek”).

Apple TV+ has unveiled the video trailer for “The Big Door Prize,” the character driven comedy created by Emmy Award-winner David West Read, and starring an ensemble cast led by Chris O’Dowd. The new 10-episode half-hour comedy, set for its premiere this month at SXSW, will debut globally with the first three episodes.

Laugh Out Loud, the multi-platform comedy brand founded by Kevin Hart, announced today that Women Write Now fellow Wilandrea Blair has been awarded a development deal with NBCUniversal Television & Streaming to develop projects for the Peacock streaming platform, produced by LOL Studios.

The series stars Robin Thede, Gabrielle Dennis, Ashley Nicole Black and Skye Townsend. The new season will feature more than 40 celebrity guest stars, including Ava DuVernay, Michaela Jaé Rodriguez, Raven-Symoné, Wanda Sykes, David Alan Grier, Jemele Hill, Kel Mitchell, Michael Ealy, Wayne Brady, Bob the Drag Queen, Vanessa Williams, and more.

The cast will feature Emmy award winning Keegan-Michael Key (Key and Peele)  as Wild, Academy Award ®-winner Jordan Peele (Get Out, Us) as Wendell, as well as Lyric Ross (This Is Us), Angela Bassett (Black Panther), James Hong (Kung Fu Panda), Tamara Smart (A Babysitter's Guide to Monster Hunting), Natalie Martinez (The Twilight Zone), and more.

Through mentorship, advocacy, production, and exhibition, this immersive program will offer a selection of talented writers the opportunity to receive one-on-one mentorship and professional guidance from leading Black women in comedy.

The Upshaws is co-created by Regina Hicks and Wanda Sykes, who serve as executive producers alongside Mike Epps, Page Hurwitz and Niles Kirchner.
