BWW Review: Irreverent "Book of Mormon" Delights in Return Visit at State Theatre
by Roy Berko - Sep 14, 2017
One of the major concerns in attending a return visit by a Broadway touring show is that the production will be a lesser version. Those planning on attending 'Book of Mormon,' now on stage at the State Theatre, should have no fears. This reincarnation is equally good as any of the other versions that have trucked into town. BWW Review: THE BOOK OF MORMON Offers an Irreverent and Hysterical Musical Comedy About Mismatched Missionaries Sent to Uganda
by Shari Barrett - Jun 2, 2017
THE BOOK OF MORMON, the nine-time Tony Award®-winning Best Musical, is an incredibly irreverent and hysterical musical comedy about two young Mormon missionaries who travel to Africa to preach and recruit new members to their faith. First staged in 2011, no one is safe from parody as the play satirizes various Mormon (as well as many other religious) beliefs and practices, as well as many well-known public figures. With book, lyrics, and music written by Trey Parker and Matt Stone, best known for creating the animated comedy South Park, the two co-created the music with Robert Lopez, the co-composer/co-lyricist of Avenue Q and Frozen.

BWW Review: THE BOOK OF MORMON Offends and Entertains Masterfully
by Dylan Shaffer - Feb 27, 2017
With shirts clean and pressed, and haircuts precise, the cast of The Book of Mormon tapped back into my heart as they did when the tour stopped in Pittsburgh four years ago. Since then, much has changed, both with the cast and with the societal conscience, but one thing remains the same: the show is hysterical and offensive in every way.
